I have been completely hooked on these eartips so much so that I completely forgot I was meant to be evaluating the Harmonic Empire Sonic Song of the Long River Eartips. What a mouthful! Given their distinct dome shape, I could easily nickname them “Beehive Eartips,” but for clarity, I will stick to “HE Sonic Eartips” in this review.
Sonically, they are a delight; the bass is full, rounded, thumpy and impressively extended, while the midrange feels velvety smooth and rich. Treble is clean and detailed without ever sounding sharp or coarse. But the real standout is their vocal performance, especially with female singers, which they deliver with a lovely balance of poise and elegance.
Comfort-wise, these eartips are top-notch. Its unique ripple patterns on the cap helps fit snugly in the ear canal, and I have had zero discomfort even during prolonged listening sessions. I can blast through whole albums without a hint of irritation, which speaks volumes about their ergonomic design and hypoallergenic material. They come in 3 pairs per set in your chosen size, which is a nice touch.
Put head-to-head with the TangZu’s Tang Sancai Advanced Wide Bore Eartips, the HE Sonic Eartips come out on top in just about every way. The Sancai Wide Bore Eartips, by comparison, sound a touch bland and uninspired. The HE Sonic Eartips, though, deliver a far more lively and dynamic sound, without ever veering into harshness or grain. It is quite impressive, really, even as a collaboration with TangZu, they easily outshine TangZu’s own eartips.
Big thumbs up to whoever came up with the HE Sonic Eartips. You have made a fantastic product that is both distinctive and sounds amazing. Highly recommended!
NOTE: Some users have reported that the HE Sonic eartips are shorter than standard silicone eartips, which can lead to a shallow fit and poor ear seal. While this has not been my personal experience nor that of several friends who have also purchased them, it is worth noting this potential issue does exist.
